Friends PURPOSE
The Friends aim is to increase public awareness and provide support for The
Contemporary Museum. Membership is open to everyone, with TCM members especially
encouraged to join.
Membership
Membership is open to anyone who is interested in advancing the purpose of the
organization and The Contemporary Museum.
Active members of Friends volunteer throughout the year at annual events such as Contempo, ArtSpree,
Art Lovers Workshops, and
for special tours and programs.
The time members give depends on each person’s interest and availability. Some work on a
project from concept to wrap-up. Others help for a few hours at a time during or preceding
a particular event.
Benefits of Membership
Special treats await members of Friends. We offer a variety of events that encourage
camaraderie among people who share an interest in art and creativity. Click on each title
for more information about each.
ART TOURS:
Periodic tours of artists’ studios and collectors’ homes is special benefit of
membership in Friends. Over the past several years we have visited over a dozen studios,
speaking with the artists directly and gaining a better understanding of their works and
the creative process. These very pleasant outings are usually offered on Saturdays and
include a delectable picnic lunch.
ART LOVERS WORKSHOPS:
The Friends of TCM has begun providing workshops for adults, enabling them to come to
the museum for a few hours and leave with an item that they have created. The workshops
will cover a variety of media. No expertise is required, just a desire to create and have
some fun.
FRIENDS FLASH:
This quarterly newsletter will keep you abreast of our activities and upcoming events,
as well as provide information on how to participate.
ANNUAL MEETING:
A luncheon membership meeting includes the election of a new board and may also include
