The artist made this bench to be comfortable for the user to relax and drift off, yet light enough to carry and small enough for two people to sit cozily.

Working with Honduran mahogany, a wood that is not only beautiful but wider than most, the artist was able to use fewer pieces and show off the grain of the wood, resulting in a beautifully simple design.

The title Palolo Noho refers to the location of the artist’s studion (Palolo), while noho means “bench” as well as “to live, to stay” in the Hawaiian language.
