Cade Roster 

TITLE:  FLOTSAM

Many of today’s artists work with recycled materials. Here, Cade Roster has taken a metal framework and topped it off with two skateboard decks, which he has painted with stormy seas and writhing sea creatures. Roster was featured in The Contemporary Museum’s Biennial of Hawaii Artists VIII, where he exhibited sculptures and drawings featuring a cast of characters which he has created. Roster is inspired by graphic novels and manga, a Japanese genre of cartoons, animation, and comic books having a fantasy theme.
